Sarah spends thousands to go on her TLC adventures, but a local who’s known Sarah for years says that’s NOT typical Alaskan behavior!
Sarah Palin sets the bar high on her reality show — too high, actually. Mama Grizzly shows fans a beautiful and exciting side of her native Alaska each week on Sarah Palin’s Alaska, but it turns out her weekly adventures are anything but typical! HollywoodLife.com spoke to a lieutenant at an Alaskan police department, who insists that no one in Alaska actually does the things America sees Sarah, Todd, Bristol and the family do every week!
“We all think the show is great and love watching it each week,” our source admits. “But these things she’s doing cost a lot of money. You don’t see people going up mountains, taking long fishing trips, and shooting caribou each week.”
In case you forgot, HollywoodLife.com researched the cost of the Palin’s hunting trip, which resulted in one bagged caribou, and the grand total came out to $42,400! But it doesn’t stop there: Early on in the season, Sarah went on a two-day fishing trip , and then enjoyed a climbing expedition on Mt. McKinley which ran her a whopping $12,250! Almost all her weekly adventures have involved using bush planes to travel, which Sarah has said – ALL Alaskans do!
So while Sarah may boast regularly about the “real” Alaska, the Palin’s lifestyle as portrayed on her “reality” show is entertaining to her fellow Alaskans, but hardly relatable!

I have lived in Alaska all my life–but never had the money to go on the weekly expensive vacations that Sarah Palin shows. We live near the water, and can go halibut or salmon fishing with our friends who have a boat. We can hike out in the woods and kill a deer or moose or caribou, but most of us do not. The typical Alaskan does not charter a boat to go fishing; charter a plane to go hunting; charter a helicopter to go for a hike/mountain climbing. Even if we had the money the Palins have, we would do things the old fashioned way, which costs less but involves more intelligence and more physical effort. Sarah Palin doesn’t have many friends in Alaska. What she doesn’t tell you is that while Governor, she set up a program that really rewards a person for producing a TV show that shows the beauty of Alaska. She is being paid almost a million dollars for this eight week series–and Alaskans didn’t realize the only reason she passed this bill was to reward herself at a later date. In addition, it is all about self promotion of Sarah Palin! Last week a poll taken in Alaska shows that only 30 per cent of the voters would approve of Sarah Palin in 2012–Sarah Palin’s wheels are always going a mile a minute, thinking up ways that she can get herself more money. She has three names in the 49th State: half term Guv; the loser and quitter and the Queen of Greed. People in the Lower 48 call her the Pitbull and Barracuda or Mama Grizzly–none of these are likeable animals, either. Take your choice of which name describes her best but none of them are complimentary.
