The Australian beauty feels blessed to have a healthy, happy family after struggling for years to get pregnant.
“It took me so long to get pregnant and have a baby, so I have enormous gratitude,” Nicole Kidman tells The Huffington Post. All her dreams came true the moment she held her daughter, Sunday Rose, 2, for the first time, because she and husband Keith Urban had struggled during their four-year-marriage to have a baby.
During her first marriage to Tom Cruise, Nicole suffered a miscarriage and she and Tom eventually adopted two children, Connor, 15, and Isabella, 17. Today, Nicole is happily living in Nashville with Keith, 43, and is thrilled to have three children to call her own. “I have two grown children with that enormous gratitude that they are healthy and sane and together and are great, great people,” she brags. Who can blame her? She’s earned those bragging rights, don’t you think, HollyMoms?
Having experienced the pain and disappointment of fertility issues, Nicole was able to channel those emotions into her latest role as a grieving mother in Rabbit Hole. She’s even nominated for a Golden Globe and there’s tons of Oscar buzz surrounding her performance. “I felt compelled to tell the story,” the 43-year-old tells The Huffington Post. “There’s no right or wrong way of navigating grief, and this is just a study, almost like a case study, of it, of two people and their marriage and their family, and how they somehow move through it. But they move through it moving toward each other rather than away.”
