Jen finally catches a break in the comparison sweepstakes. Angelina’s expensive latest film, ‘The Tourist’ was a bombolino at the box office taking in $17 million versus Jen’s inexpensively produced ‘The Bounty Hunter’ which at $21 mil looks like a big hit in comparison!
The much anticipated combo of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in The Tourist did not in fact make for the big box office bucks many had predicted. According to our sister site Deadline, Angie and Johnny could only eek out $17 million at the weekend office, or, to put in another way, $3.5 million less than Jen made when The Bounty Hunter opened last March!
Now while $3.5 million may not seem like such a big difference you have to take into account that Jen’s filmed opened in March, one of the slower months for box office, while Angie’s film opened during the very popular, and often lucrative, holiday season.
There’s more too. The budget for The Tourist was a pricey $100 million, not including marketing campaigns and ads, as opposed to The Bounty Hunter which was acomparatively frugal $40 million. With a total international take of just over $136 million, Jen was actually a great investment for the studio.
Angie may have got her man, but Jen could still steal Angie’s box office crown! Which actress do you like better on the big screen?

The tourist made more money if you count overseas. Check it out, plus it won a nomination. Jen is just lucky she has the same old idiots that will go to her movies to try to prove “some” point.
