Elizabeth’s closest friends gathered in Edenton, N.C. to say their final goodbyes.
Elizabeth Edwards was laid to rest Dec. 11 in Edenton, N.C. after a six year battle with breast cancer. The devoted mother was eulogized by eldest daughter Cate Edwards and close friends Hargrave McElroy and Glenn Bergenfield.
Elizabeth’s doctors announced Dec. 6 that continuing cancer treatment would be “unproductive” for the 61-year-old. Elizabeth leaves behind three children: Cate, 28, Emma Claire, 12, and son Jack, 10 — her eldest son Wade died in a 1996 car accident.
Elizabeth had been separated from her husband John Edwards since January of 2010 following reports of his affair with Rielle Hunter.

Mrs. Edwards was laid to rest in Raleigh not Edenton NC. She was buried in Oakwood Cemetary, next to her son, in Raleigh. HL get your facts right.
