Almost an entire day after video leaked online of Miley Cyrus smoking out of a bong, Billy Ray takes to his Twitter to express his disappointment and sadness — and says he didn’t know
Billy Ray Cyrus, 49, is not a proud papa. The country music star who, along with the rest of the world, watched his daughter, 18-year-old Miley Cyrus take a bong rip of Salvia on a homemade video, shot five days after her Nov. 23 birthday, expressed a sincere apology via his Twitter account for being unaware of his daughter’s outlandish actions.
“Sorry guys. I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. Im so sad. There is much beyond my control right now,” he tweeted.
It’s no secret Miley has always gotten her way being a daddy’s girl, but her smoking experimentation is a big wake-up call that things need to change. Her behavior has continually gotten worse. In an effort to connect with an older audience, she has done everything from dressing provocatively to dating older guys, while ramping up the maturity of her music to rid herself of her good-girl Disney persona.
The Cyrus family, who were firmly planted in Hollywood’s golden spotlight as a perfect celebrity family, was recently knocked off their pedestal. News that Billy Ray and wife, Tish Cyrus were ending their 17-year marriage due to rumored infidelity on Tish’s part with Poison lead singer and reality show star, Bret Michaels, sent shock waves though Hollywood.
Her troubled family life has pushed Miley to new extremes and her bong smoking video is clear cut evidence that she is not receiving the parental guidance and attention she so desperately needs.
Maybe now Billy Ray and Tish will open their eyes and help their daughter before it’s too late.

Miley Cyrus apologized for her bong video. But why she still smoking cigar then if she’s so DAMM SORRY. I actually loved her when she was good no drugs, no ciggarates which CAUSE SO MANY CANCERS SHE’S CRAZY!! I understand that everyone makes mistakes if she smoked a ciggarate like couple of time I would be upset but smoking a bong was out of order. I just never knew she could have turned so bad when sh’s 18. Billy Ray is fantastic dad Miley shouldn’t being stroppy with him DIVORCES DO HAPPEN!
