The Mayor of Wasilla says people around town aren’t glued to their sets to watch the new reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska on TLC. spoke exclusively to the current Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska who says the town folk just aren’t as obsessed with the Palin family as the rest of the lower 48 states.   Mayor Verne Rupright says that for the people in Wasilla, the big news for the small town was when Sarah Palin was running for Vice President with John McCain; they aren’t glued to their TVs to watch the reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska on TLC.

The Mayor tells, “We don’t keep track of the family. People here respect their privacy and their lives.  The people in town don’t pay attention to them, we got our business and they got theirs.”

The Mayor also took the time to wonder at Sarah’s remarkable ability to use social media to convey her political messages.  He says between Facebook and Twitter, Sarah has the older politicians pretty upset because she has a better platform to say what she wants to the world to hear through her social media accounts.

Not to mention ‘The Quitter’ will never have to answer any questions through Facebook and Twitter, unlike the old politicians who are answerable to the voters and aren’t afraid to actually talk to reporters.

The older politicians are shivering in fear at getting asked scary questions like…hmmm… reading materials? important court decisions? or better yet ‘What are the duties of the Vice-President?’ Um… all of them, can’t think of one and I don’t know 4 different times. Blah.
