The actress and star of the upcoming romantic comedy How Do You Know brought her two kids along for her special day!
When Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe talks, the Hollywood Walk of Fame listens! The Oscar-winning star of Walk the Line was rewarded for her stellar film career yesterday (Dec. 1) with a star on the famed Street of Dreams. “My kids and I were walking down Hollywood Boulevard on the way to dinner and I realized I’d never explained to them what the Walk of Fame was,” the 34-year-old actress said in her acceptance speech. “My daughter asked me if had a star and I said I didn’t, that they hadn’t honored me yet. She then said, ‘Well, they better hurry up while you’re still alive and can enjoy it!'”
Reese, who wore a black and red polka dot Dolce & Gabanna dress with red shoes, was joined by her parents, Ava, 11, son Deacon, 7, and her boyfriend Jim Toth, as well as her Legally Blonde canine co-star, Bruiser.
Still, despite her success — the talented comedic actress got a lot of press lately for the great line, “Funny doesn’t sag” — Reese still has to deal with a wee bit of disappointment from her folks. “My mom wanted me to be a pediatric cardiologist,” she said with a smile at the ceremony. “I’m sorry, Mom. My dad really wanted me to be the great American novelist. Sorry, Dad. But it turns out, as a result of this career, I have been a doctor, a Harvard law school graduate, an Olympic athlete, a very famous country western singer, a fashion designer, a juvenile delinquent, a circus performer, a ruthless high school politico, and a 50-foot woman.”
Wow! Congrats, Reese!
