Leighton Meester Wears Menswear! Was AnnaLynne McCord Her Inspiration?

What do you think of the menswear trend?

I wasn’t surprised to see Leighton Meester turn up in a suit and tie at the Gotham Independent Spirit Awards on Nov. 29 at Cipriani in NYC. Not only does the Gossip Girl love to keep things interesting on the red carpet, but menswear is a huge trend right now, and I think the star shows how you can successfully pull off the look — even though it doesn’t work well on everyone. Leighton wasn’t the first star to show off this trend — fellow CW star AnnaLynne McCord pulled out a slew of similar get-ups!

First, the 90210 star pulled out not one, but two ties, before showing up in a pantsuit. In fact, if you take two of her looks, you get Leighton’s! What do you think of the menswear trend?

I think AnnaLynne pulls it off beautifully. Leighton, not loving it.

The men’s suit is indeed a trend,according to women’s fashion these days and Annalynne made it popular with her WISE choices. Not only that, she is the spokeswoman for Armani Exchange….She looks polished as well is organized, when she wears her trendy menswear looks. Leighton’s suit is nice, but I must admit she needed her suit pressed, it looks kind of wrinkly!

this trend to me is similar to the over the knee boots… i love the idea, but it never quite works out (at least for me) and is always on the verge of being too costume-y. that said, i think leighton did a nice job. the length of her pant, slightly undone tie, and bright clutch make the look refreshing instead of annalynne’s very obvious and unoriginal choices. (i’ll be the first to admit that i am biased against annalynne tho- so maybe i can’t be objective about her. very sick of that girl’s arrogant mug.)
