It’s not the most over-the-top proposal story we’ve ever heard — but at least they paused the TV to take care of business.
At long last, Jessica Simpson has revealed the story of how Eric Johnson proposed to her Nov. 11 — and it involves a shoe, a big secret, and the power of DVR.
Jess tells SIRIUS XM’s The Morning Mash Up in an interview (airing Dec. 2) that Eric hid the ring in a shoe before he popped the question. “I was like,” says Jessica. “Why hide it in a shoe? But it worked. I had no idea.”
And like something out of a Comcast commercial, Simpson says she was watching NBC’s Parenthood when Eric asked her to pause the show, at which point he got down on one knee to propose.
He’d already gotten the blessing of Jessica’s mom and dad, and sister Ashlee.
