Prince William and Kate Middleton will marry on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey — who will make the 2000-guest list?
The couple have announced the date of their wedding — defying most expectations, in the spring rather than the summer — and the location, which is hardly a surprise.
William and Kate will walk down the very long aisle at Westminster Abbey, where the funeral for Diana was held in 1997.
Last Wednesday evening, Kate was photographed after a visit to Westminster Abbey, which is considered the most traditional place in England for royal coronations and burials. It has space for 2,000 guests.
William was said to want as short an engagement as possible.
More Wedding Details:
- Kate, it is said, will have to stay a size 8 and get no bigger according to InTouch, who also reports the future princess is taking two hour classes twice a week with William’s butler to get groomed for royal life. It is also estimated that the wedding will bring in roughly $45 million in merchandise and $575 million in food and wine sales from people watching the nuptials.
- Among the designers being bandied about as possible wedding dress choices are Issa, Vivienne Westwood, Amanda Wakeley, Marchesa, Matthew Williamson, and Jenny Packham.
- Possible honeymoon locations include Africa, Mustique and Desroches Island.
- Among Kate’s newfound perks will be a security detail, a diary secretary and ladies-in-waiting (yep, they exist).
