Uh oh! Sonja has to pay for the NYC lifestyle some how, but what is she going to do?
Another housewife has hit financial problems! Sonja Morgan, from the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City, filed for bankruptcy in Manhattan on Nov. 17 listing $19.8 million in debt and $13.5 million in assets!
“The decision to seek bankruptcy relief was not an easy one, but unfortunately, I am at a crossroads in my life,” Sonja says in the papers she filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The papers site the source of Sonja’s financial issues on an ongoing case involving an unsuccessful project with Hannibal Pictures Inc. Sonja’s production company had originally teamed up with the second company to make a movie starring John Travolta called Fast Flash to Bang Time, but the script never made it to production.
Hannibal Pictures filed suit against Sonja Productions in California winning $7 million, but the case is now facing appeals.
Sonja also blames part of her financial woes on her ex-husband, John Adams Morgan, a descendant of J.P. Morgan.
“The ensuing divorce with Mr. Morgan has been bitter,” Sonja says in the papers. “My former husband has not fully cooperated in disposing of jointly owned assets.”
Sonja isnt the first housewife from Bravo enterprise to have financial problems this year. Teresa Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey and her husband are facing issues with their bankrupcy trustee. Michaele and Tareq Salahi from the D.C. cast filed for protection in September as well.
