Octomom Volunteered To Be The 'Human Guinea Pig' For A Fertility Study, Her Doc Says!

INFphoto.comAfter being accused of negligence in his treatment of Nadya Suleman, Dr. Michael Kamrava insists that she agreed to be implanted with 12 embryos as part of a fertility study. Who do you think is telling the truth?

Dr. Michael Kamrava, the fertility doctor who treated the now infamous Octomom, claims that Nadya Suleman agreed to act as a “human guinea pig” and have 12 embryos implanted in her uterus as part of a study. He also says that she volunteered to go through with it and signed consent papers that listed the risks of the procedure! “She heard about it, we discussed it with her and she volunteered,” Dr. Kamrava said in a hearing at the Medical Board of California yesterday (Nov. 18). The board is meeting to decide whether he should have his license suspended over his treatment of Nadya.

Dr. Kamrava finally admits–‘I wish I had never done it!’

Nadya, as we all know by now, became Octomom after she gave birth to eight babies in January 2009. The divorced single mother, 33, also has a six other children she conceived through IVF with Dr. Kamrava, making a total of 14 kids. After the birth of the eight babies, Dr. Kamrava was accused of negligence in his treatment of her, which claimed that she was not aware of the fertility case study. At yesterday’s hearing, Deputy Attorney General Judith Alvarado asked Dr. Kamrava, “Where did she sign to say I’m a volunteer to be tested as a human guinea pig?” And he responded that she put her signature on a consent form, which listed all the risks involved with the procedure.

Octomom is desperate for money!

Dr. Kamrava says he regrets implanting the 12 embryos, but faces losing his medical license if the allegations of improper treatment are proven true. He was already kicked out of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, but the group doesn’t have legal authority to prevent him from practicing medicine. Hollymoms, what’s your opinion?

Ah, Leigh, You have really messed up the facts here, and grossly misquoted testimony.

“Dr. Michael Kamrava, the fertility doctor who treated the now infamous Octomom, claims that Nadya Suleman agreed to act as a “human guinea pig” and have 12 embryos implanted in her uterus as part of a study.”

You are implying that Kamrava was conducting a study that involved implanting 12 embryos as part of study’s design.

To clarify, the transfer technique and the decision to implant 12 embryos are separate issues.

Suleman signed consent for Kamrava to use his “camera guided embryo transfer” [ oh, the irony of Suleman fascination of the camera even then!] Kamrava negligently did not inform his patients that he was “experimenting” with this technique. He “corruptly” misrepresented it as a more successful technique, although that was not proven.

The prosecution and defense both acknowledged that Suleman demanded the 12 fresh embryos be transferred. The State argued the doctor was wrong to “bow to that outlandish request”. The defense argued “He [Kamrava] was afraid he was going to kill these embryos and he had no legal right to do it.”

Since you have included a poll with your piece asking people to pass judgment on this debacle, you should have least done SOME homework and got the story straight.

Who cares if she signed anything? She’s obviously unstable, her consent means nothing!
