Christina Aguilera Talks About Raising Son Max Alone: 'More Power To Single Moms!'

Since filing for divorce from her husband of five years, Jordan Bratman, the singer has slipped into the role of being a single mom to their 2-year-old son, Max. And she’s gained a lot of respect for all the women doing the job on their own.

Despite her marriage falling apart last month, Christina Aguilera doesn’t think the divorce will scar her 2-year-old son Max for life. “I was raised by a single mom,” she told Ellen DeGeneres today. And she’s already gained a newfound respect for all the other single mothers. “More power to single moms and those out there doing it.”

Christina has been trying to keep things as normal as possible for the sake of her little man. “My focus first and foremost is my son Max,” she said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “He’s the love of my life.” The 29-year-old star of Burlesque and her estranged husband of five years, Jordan Bratman, are seeking joint custody of their child.

Christina is staying so positive right now that she’s not even letting her approaching 30th birthday on December 18 get her down. “It’s better than turning 20, I’ll tell you that,” she says.”You’re more comfortable in your own skin as a woman. You have a better idea of what you want and how to get it. At this time in my life, it’s a huge turning point, it’s a transitional stage and I’m ready. I’m ready.” Ellen presented the star with a sexy birthday gift – a hunky half-naked man cake!

We have faith that this next decade will be your best one yet, Christina.
