'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Denies New Felony Charges! EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!

We spoke to Amber just minutes after HL broke the news of felony charges: ‘None of this is true … they can’t charge me if they don’t have proof.’

Amber Portwood needs to face the music. The 20-year-old MTV Teen Mom star is being charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor for beating up her ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley on the show, and she doesn’t believe it’s actually happening — but it is. Amber faces three years in jail and up to $10,000 in fines!

“I didn’t hit Gary in front of Leah so there are no felony charges,” she told HollywoodLife.com. “None of this is true, there’s nothing against me. They can’t charge me if they don’t have proof.”

In the state of Indiana, domestic abuse is considered a felony if a child is present, Leah, 2, was there for both incidents.

I happened to watch some of this t.v. show as I’m home for a few months due to a broken leg. Amber is a horrible, ugly person……a terrible mother, and she needs her baby taken away from her. I can’t believe I’m even taking the time to write this. But, when you watch it right on t.v., her hitting Gary over and over, and yes the baby was their, send her to jail and anger management. Give the baby to Gary, he might be a little sloppy, but Amber is the pig. At least he won’t harm the little girl. My hat’s off to you Gary for not decking Amber……such self-control is great and will also help you in raising your daughter. I’m sure alot of young women have seen you on t.v. and would love to have you as a boyfriend-husband. Get rid of the pig, take your daughter…she will be hitting her next. It’s in the cards. She’s an ugly girl anyway, and this just makes her uglier……..I might feel different if she was a descent human being…….run for the hills Gary and take Leah with you…….everyone in America will go to trial for you if you need help in getting custody. I’ve never written about a t.v. show before, this is a first…….but I hate abuser’s.

Having never seen this program, I am writing solely based on all that I have read about the performers and the show.
If the incidents in question are recorded on video, action must be taken against Amber. If the state law specifically details that it is a felony to batter another person in the presence of a small child, child protective service must be notified and the child must be removed from the home. If the man had hit her, he would be jailed immediately. There should be no double standard for domestic violence. Is Amber in jail?
This mother is a poster child for white trash – sixteen, pregnant (now 20 and with a child), an uneducated bully who batters other people. Has she finished her GED? Can she even hold down the beauty salon job? There are several good reasons children should not be having babies. One is financial, the other is emotional immaturity. This young woman qualifies for both. If ever full birth control use should be required or mandatory, Amber is it.
Perhaps signing away parental rights would be in the best interest of the child. She is the one at risk; the adults are merely cashing in on the spoils of TV. I’m sure her behavior would make her parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc., really proud of their little Amber. She probably turned out exactly as they had hoped.
Shame on the writers, producers, directors, the network, etc. for airing this dreck. It is trash-TV at its zenith.

Amber and boyfriend are losers. They’re too immature to have kids at that age. They take out their anger on each other because they don’t want the responsibility of raising a kid and the pressure. They’re stuck the next 18 years whether they like it or not.

Someone said Gary is useless I take my hat off to him he never hit her back and the one episode took his baby and left got her out of harms way way to go Gary!!! Unless you have been in those shoes you have no idea how it is he has the signs of a typical victim. Gary you dont need that in your life you have a great daughter and there will be someone out there for you. My prayers are with you and you daughter.

i,m in total shock that dr. drew did,t stop the filming of that situation and got amber and that useless gary help befor it got so out of controll. come on gary was no angle in these. no she should,t have touched the winner.but he was no winner. i,m so upset over this i don,t want to say anymore but amber is getting the shaft……..

Uh.. she says Leah wasn’t present for the incidents, but the entire country saw that she was for 2 out of 3 times that she hit Gary… If you notice, she wasn’t nearly this messed up in 16 & Pregnant. Whatever is going on her in life that we don’t know about or MTV didn’t catch, must be really bad. I actually kind of sympathize. I mean, there’s no excuse for doing that with the baby present but I sympathize with her for whatever drove her to be this unstable.

although there is something funny upon first blush, about her ignorance and ridiculous response… i am disturbed by all things from this show, including posting stuff about it here. she’s a f’ed up teen mom, and that child is going to have a lifetime of ill effects from it. i don’t think this type of tragedy should be exploited by tlc or whomever is airing it, nor anyone else.
