Watch The New Trailer For The Red Riding Hood Movie! It's Exactly Like 'Twilight!'

The trailer for Twilight director Catherine Hardwick’s next project has hit the net, and after watching it, we can’t help but feel we’ve seen this type of movie before…

Catherine Hardwicke has forever earned a spot in the hearts of teens that have ever dreamt of loving a hunky supernatural since she directed the very first Twilight movie — and based on the trailer for her new movie Red Riding Hood, she might be up to her old immortal love tricks…

Amanda Seyfried plays the most famous hood-wearing girl in history (real name Valerie), and the trailer is full of steamy moments between her and hottie Shiloh Fernandez. Shiloh’s character Peter may or may not be the werewolf that everyone in the movie is living in fear of, but we kind of think he is (which makes Valerie’s love for dangerous and, of course, forbidden).

The trailer is gorgeous, but there are some moments between Amanda and Shiloh that hit a little too close to a Twi-hards’ home. Right off the bat, Valerie tells her boy that she’d “do anything” to be with him. And then there’s Peter telling Valerie: “I’m wrong for you” and her response: “I don’t care.”

Of course, if our werewolf boyfriend looked like that, we wouldn’t care either.

Other similarities? The song the trailer is set to is very reminiscent of the Twilight Saga’s soundtrack; plus, there also seems to be a love triangle. Of course, this is all just based on 90 second trailer. We’ll save our final judgment for the actual movie, which releases next year. Then again, it wouldn’t be the worst thing to have another Bella and Edward to obsess over.

Check it out below and tell us what you think!

red the 1st draft revision script of red riding hood! man, gotta say it is awesome and well written.. i’m sure they edit it to make the final draft revision darker, cooler, more thrilling, gripping with more twists! damn, my 3 suspects weren’t even the suspects! DAMMIT! and “love triangle” isn’t the focus (the wolf is), it didn’t even shine nor ate space on the script! which is a relief! not so twilight-y at all! and they stick to the original fairytale: adult, dark, and gruesome!

i believe gary oldman will rock as father solomon and julie christie as the grandmother. i’m keeping my faith on amanda seyfried, if she could pull all the scenes well – then i bet this will be a hit!

Didn’t I see the name Billy Burke in the credits for Red Riding Hood? He plays Bella’s Dad Charlie in the Twilight saga movies.

honestly, i am so sick with all the pointless and shallow comparisons. firstly, the story of L/RRH perse is very different from the story of twilight. and L/RRH ever since has its wolf as a character, so why would having a wolf or werewolf an issue?

secondly, people should do some research about the interpretations of LRRH specially the version of Brothers Grimm. this fairytale is actually the darkest fairytale among all fairytale and its interpretation might surprise you. the story is not as easy as having a little girl visiting her grandma and met a bad wolf along the way… blah, blah, blah… it has more and deeper and darker meaning to that! you might be surprise that the color of tge cape, the wolf, the snow, etc. have it’s meaning and symbolism!

thirdly, so what if hardwicke directed this? that doesn’t mean the story is patterned to twilight. leo dicaprio actually suggested the “love triangle” to make it more dark, sexy, and mature than the fairytale itself. and the writer of orphan is the writer of the movie. so how is it possible that RRH and Twilight is the same?

i think people should do their judging, whining, and complaining after they watched the whole thing and if its proven a fail!

While this movie does look a little like Twilight I don’t care. Catherine helped make Twilight a huge hit. I think this movie looks amazing and I cant wait to see it.

LAME. This guy is even one of the final hopefuls for Edward Cullen, Catherine Hardwicke is a one trick pony!

Thousands of actors tried out for Edward Cullen. The fact that Catherine Hardwicke chose him for the lead in LRRH only means he’s good. I read he had to survive 7 auditions to land this part. Catherine Hardwicke may be the director, but Leonardo DiCaprio is the producer and the screenwriter is a man, not Melissa Rosenberg. She has to answer to Leo and be true to the material. She’s brought her own special something to each film she has directed. The only similiarity between Twilight and LRRH is that there’s a love triangle (I bet we’ve never seen that on screen before), it was filmed in Vancouver, and there’s a fantasy element in Twilight and a fantasy/horror element in LRRH. The teaser trailer was less than 2 minutes in length. How can you judge an entire film by about 90 seconds of viewing? Let’s see it before we applaud or boo it.
