What did you think of her bunched up get-up last night?
When I saw Leighton Meester‘s Marchesa jumpsuit at the Harry Winston Court of Jewels Recreation Launch on Nov. 16 in NYC, all I could say was why?! This pains me for many reasons. For one, the Gossip Girl star has had such a stellar style run on the red carpet — until now. I was convinced she had finally grown into her own sense of style and then she has to show up in this unflattering look. I’m also a huge Marchesa fan and while this is one of my least favorite looks from the spring 2011 collection, I don’t think it was meant to be taken off the model and straight onto the red carpet.
In case you thought the sheer lacy jumpsuit would have been too blah, the look was finished off with a plunging neckline, embellished belt, and open back. Leighton paired the interesting get-up with pretty Nicholas Kirkwood pumps, a ball bag, and ruby lips. I will give Leighton some credit for looking as classy as one could be in a sheer jumpsuit that leaves little to the imagination, although I still don’t think she pulled it off. To be fair, I don’t think this intricate creation belongs on a red carpet, and I don’t know who would’ve been able to pull it off. What did you think of her look last night?

I don’t love it, but would have been into the ensemble from a satorialist view if she had worn black briefs that covered her bottom.
