Follow these quick steps for a pretty A-list pout this winter!

Winter is rough on the thin skin around your mouth, which can cause chapping, cracking and uneven texture. So not cute if you like to wear lipstick like Taylor Swift. Here are some quick things you can do regularly to keep your pout looking pretty as the mercury drops:

  1. Exfoliate – Regular exfoliation is key. Just use a washcloth or an old toothbrush to (gently!) remove dead skin on your lips once a day. You can also use a gentle lip scrub that infuses moisture while it exfoliates, like Smashbox Emusion Lip Exfoliant.
  2. Moisturize – The best way to keep your lips from drying out is to keep them moisturized, so keep lip balms handy at all times. A simple daytime option is Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 and then absolutely DO NOT forget to moisturize at night (which is when you lose most of your moisture.) I live for AmorePacific Moisture Bound Lip Treatment.
  3. Prep – Lipsticks and glosses aren’t enough to shield your lips from freezing winds and snow. Be sure to put a moisture base underneath your lip products for that extra layer of protection, like Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lip Lift, which creates a smooth texture while it protects and hydrates.
