Happy Birthday, Maggie Gyllenhaal! You're 33 Today, November 16!

After the success of her recent film Crazy Heart, the Academy Award nominated star is in for another great year!

Maggie Gyllenhaal, who happens to be the older sister of heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal, is celebrating her birthday today! And what better way to do that than hang out with her hubby Peter Sarsgaard, their beautiful daughter Ramona, 4, and uncle Jake! “Some of my earliest memories are of my sister coming back from doing a rehearsal for some musical during elementary school,” Jake, 29, says of Maggie. “I would watch her, and I realized that she got attention that way. I joined her and we would put on shows together and she would always boss me around.” Ironically, Maggie got her break as a supporting actor in the indie cult film Donnie Darko, which starred Jake! She then had a featured role in Secretary, which earned her great praise and her first Golden Globe nomination. Maggie was also featured in the well-known Batman movie The Dark Knight and the indie film Sherrybaby, for which she received her second Golden Globe nod. Her role in Crazy Heart, alongside Jeff Bridges, allowed her to nab her first Academy Award nomination for supporting actress. Although she didn’t win, the film definitely helped her career. She is currently filming Hysteria, which is set to come out in 2011. We hope Maggie has a fantastic birthday with her family and friends!
