Suri Cruise, who has her very own iPad, isn’t the only technologically savvy tot. It looks like more and more elementary school kids will be asking Santa for an iPad this holiday season. Will you be forking out more than $400 for one?
Remember when a coloring book and a brand new box of crayons or a Barbie doll were the perfect presents to find wrapped up under the Christmas tree? Well, let’s hope Santa’s elves have adapted to the electronics age, because all kids are asking for this holiday season is an iPad. Industry experts say that Apple’s handheld computer gizmo is at the top of just about every tween’s wish list!
“I think the iPad will spark a revolution in children’s culture,” Computerworld columnist Mike Elgan tells USA Today. He considers the iPad to be the children’s toy of the year. “I’m convinced that starting this year, and especially next year, iPad will be the No. 1 more requested holiday and birthday gift by everyone under the age of 18, and especially under the age of 12.” Tom Cruise and Kate Holmes got one for their 4-year-old daughter Suri right after they went on sale this past spring.
Are your kids begging for one, HollyMoms? Personally, I think they’re great for busy adults on the go, but don’t really see why someone who’s still learning to read and write really needs one. Personally, I’ll stick to picture books and board games when it comes to presents for the kids in my life this holiday season. But if I get one for Christmas, I suppose I could share… if they ask really nicely.
