Jessica and boyfriend Eric Johnson announce their engagement after only six months of dating — is Jessica reacting to ex Nick’s recent engagement and rushing into marriage?
It came as no surprise when Nick Lachey announced his engagement to girlfriend of four years Vanessa Minnillo on Nov. 4, but news that a mere week later, Nov. 11, ex-wife Jessica Simpson was taking the plunge with beau Eric Johnson seemed a bit odd. The pair had only been dating a mere six months and while everyone could see how in love they were via her Twitter, photographs and constant adorations, it seemed to be far too rushed. It almost seemed that Jessica was trying to beat Nick to the altar!
Ironically, the soon to be betrothed couples had a run in at LA hot spot Red-O Oct. 21 where Jessica admitted to ignoring her former hubby. Yet just over a week later she was congratulating him on his engagement!

It’s obvious that she hasn’t gotten over Nick. To settle for a man she’s only knows for six months, unemployed, still legally married to his wife, Jessica is just desperate. For a thirty year old, she’s has the maturity of a teenager.
