EXCLUSIVE! Courtney Mazza thinks that baby Gia should be at home in her nursery instead of spending her days on the set of Extra with daddy Mario Lopez, and being introduced to stars like Ricky Martin!
It’s no secret that Mario Lopez loves the spotlight — from his days starring on Saved by the Bell to his five-days-a-week hosting gig on Extra to his new VH1 reality show, Mario Lopez: Saved by the Baby. But insiders tell HollyBaby.com exclusively that his girlfriend, Courtney Mazza, is less than thrilled with the fact that he’s been parading their newborn daughter, Gia, all over town.
Since she was born on September 11, the adorable baby has had nearly as much time in the spotlight as her dad, including a magazine shoot for OK! and an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres‘ talk show. She’s also made a handful of appearances on Mario’s show, Extra, and has been photographed with Cindy Crawford, Ricky Martin and Nancy O’Dell among other celebs.
Mario may think it’s all harmless fun and dimples, but according to our source, Courtney (whom he insists on calling by her last name, Mazza, because he says he can’t imagine himself with someone named Courtney) doesn’t like the fact that their daughter is not being allowed to settle into a routine at home and instead is being passed around for celebrities to hold and constantly shown on-camera.
Says the insider, “She’s only 2 months old and he’s subjecting her to too many people. Courtney’s told him that the baby is susceptible to colds and viruses at such a young age, but Mario thinks its fine. But, it’s not. It’s unhealthy for the baby. Courtney didn’t mind the at-home photo shoot, but taking Gia to The Grove [shopping center, where they shoot Extra] is a bit much. Then he brought her on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. But Mario is oblivious to it all. He’s just so in awe of his little girl that he wants to put her on a pedestal.”
What do you think, HollyMoms? Should Mario give little Gia a break from all the media exposure and let her enjoy nap time in her own bed?
