The GOP's Plot For Bristol To Win 'DWTS:' Will Sarah Palin's Fans Make It Happen?

Fri, November 12, 2010 1:40pm EDT by 19 Comments

The Republicans took the House, but can they take Dancing with the Stars too? Palin-friendly groups are campaigning for Bristol to win — and they just might succeed!

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out Dancing with the Stars has become far more of a popularity contest than a dance competition! Despite being one of the strongest dancers on the show, reality starlet Audrina Patridge was quickly eliminated because America didn’t vote for her. Now, one of the weakest dancers, Bristol Palin is heading to the semi-finals because she has an entire political party pulling for her — the GOP.

Although our DWTS insider assures us Sarah Palin isn’t the one campaigning to get her daughter votes, her millions of die-hard followers certainly are.

“Operation Bristol waltzes in tonight! As #DWTS starts vote at abc.go.com Tweeps pls tweet phone info, will RT,” Palin activist Tammy Bruce tweeted to her thousands of followers last week.

Bristol, 19, was the lowest scoring contestant during the Week 8 performances, but that didn’t stop GOP groups across the country from rallying behind “Bristol the Pistol,” or as we here at HollywoodLife.com have deemed her, Bristallion.

“Vote for Bristol Palin!” a website called Conservatives 4 Palin said, giving dial-in info. “Warm up those dialing/texting/mouse-clicking fingers!”

“Tonight is the night,” another site, Motivation Truth, told it’s readers, urging them to watch and support the GOP’s favorite teen mom. HillBuzz.org, another Conservative site, follows Bristol’s progress every week and gives its readers all the info they need to vote, whether they’ve watched the show or not.

Although other less-than-stellar candidates have made it far in the Dancing with the Stars world, no one as low-scoring as Bristol has ever won the grand prize. However, scores are only half the battle — viewers’ votes are what really determine the winner and Palin supporters are out for a win! Do YOU think they’ll succeed?

I think the reason Bristol’s mom has been on the show is because she’s promoting her own new show. Same with all the GOP stuff. I think she’s just looking for publicity for her show.

I cant believe the naive GOP that fall for the Palin manipulation process. Don’t they realize they are all being used for her gain? For Sarah to promote her daughter on GOP websites is an abuse of power which is what we would be dealing with if she ever became president.
I like Bristol, she has shown some progress but should have been voted off after the monkey suits. For her to win would be an insult to Jennifer and Brandy who really deserve to win. This show is doomed if they allow Bristol to win by Sarah’s influence.

i don’t care what anybody says its all about popularity. when that castovenilo dude be out mel be..Mel should have won..when donnie beat out mya..Mya should have won. its all about popularity. Now this season has really went down hill boom. everybody in the entire world knows that bristol should have been gone. i don’t care what u people say. it is not fair to the faithful one that really get into this show. you have shown us what side of evil you are on (abc).like i said with all the other dancers (abc) they pick who they want to be in the finals and its is not american choice. its their show its their choice. so my thing is do not give ABC ANY MORE CREDITS. let the american alaskan give them their credits and the teabaggers. I knew that televison would eventually do what its doing or shall i say producers. u take the christian channels off and bring in young pregnant girl (unwed no morals)to TV. no respect for the older generation. and guiding the younger generation in the wron path. what cruel people we have in television today.

And for those that say she’s improving….HAH. The ONE move she has is shaking her breasts. That’s it. Plus, she always looks like she is having a colonoscopy when she dances. She has zero charisma, Kyle has it in spades as does Jennifer and Brandy.

Those dorks need to remember, or they should learn that this show, Project Runway AND American Idol to name a few don’t go by just the votes…..or at least they ahve the option not to. Ever read the fine print end credits? States that the producers have input on the final results in not so many words and that basically means if they know this stuff is being pulled they can change the results. They had it easy up to this point, the moron Bristol fans, in that dancers eliminated could have plausibly been eliminated over her but NOONE will buy that America truly thought she was better than Kyle, Brandy or Jennifer. And while DWTS execs want publicity, they don’t want their show being made a mockery, especially with a season coming up that could potentially have it’s first same sex pairing as well as a VERY popular captain from Deadliest Catch.

Those websites are not official Sarah Palin sites and I see a lot more sites blasting Bristol BECAUSE she is Sarah’s daughter. I think some American’s see her as the shy “girl next door”. She is likable and trying something totally new. America did the same for Marie Osmond, Kelli Osborne, and Kate Gosselin. They love to see the underdog rise. Bristol did nail her tango last week but the judges still gave her the lowest scores. It is just a TV show and dragging politics into it is nuts. Bristol forgot to vote folks. SHE is NOT a politician as she admitted it on live TV. If she was she would have lied about voting. LOL

Nobody is saying that Bristol is into politics. They are saying her mom’s supporters are supporting Bristol. No doubt that is happening, but as another poster pointed out – that’s what the show is about. People casting their votes. You can’t control who people vote for, but in the end the producers will control who wins.

I hope Bristol wins DWTS for her mother and in 2012 I hope Sarah loses the President election for America.

It’s always been a “popularity” thing to some degree. I am a fan of Sarah Palin’s but I have NOT voted for Bristol so not “EVERY” Sarah supporter is voting for Bristol. This is not a political race for heaven’s sake. She’s not the best dancer but no one can disagree that she has improved since her first dance – Lacey’s partner is not a good dancer either but he has improved and is entertaining. Audrina was not that good of a dancer in my opinion but she did look good in the skimpy outfits – apparently her friends did not take the time to vote for her!

Audrina was not a good dancer??? What show have you been watching? The judges all were chocked when Audrina was sent home. The judges were always telling Audrina how well she did. She had don better than Brandy some weeks.
Bristol should have gone the week she dd te bear costume and forgot her dance.

Audrina WAS a good dancer, but she didn’t get the votes because the voters didn’t know her/didn’t like her. This is totally a popularity contest. It has been since season one. Bristol won’t win in the end no matter how many votes she gets. The producers don’t want this show to be a total joke and will want someone who can actually dance to win.

I disagree…Kyle Massey is a very good dancer. He’s a little overweight, yes, but a very good dancer. I don’t understand how the judges can give Bristol an eight after giving Kyle and some of the other better dancers an eight. Bristol has improved, yes. But she is not a dancer.

How pathetic can you people be? I guess it was some vast right-wing conspiracy that got Donnie Osmond to the winner’s circle?
Of course it SHOULD be about dancing and not popularity but the reality is that if you allow people to vote that isn’t going to be the case.
Get over it! Maybe people are voting for her because they are so sick and tired of the way her mother is brutalized by the left-wing media on a daily basis and this is their way of saying SCREW YOU!

You talk as if Mamma Grizzly isn’t brutal herself. Sarah Palin is very outspoken and she says anything, and everything to and about anyone she so chooses. People should be able to sock it to her just like she dished it out. No need to spare her, she won’t spare you, trust me. I’m a cool observer.
