Despite being a gay rights advocate and an out lesbian, Ellen is uncomfortable with the idea of a same-sex couple competing on Dancing with the Stars!

Well, we know Ellen DeGeneres won’t be joining wife Portia de Rossi should she decide to salsa her way onto Dancing with the Stars next season. Kelly Osbourne made an appearance on Ellen on Nov. 12, and the two discussed the rumor that Portia will be a contestant. After Kelly gushed about how “fabulous” it is to see two women dancing together on the Israeli DWTS, Ellen, 52, voiced her surprising thoughts on a same-sex waltzing duo.

“I think it’s weird,” Ellen said. “It’s not a romantic thing. It’s an art form and in dancing it doesn’t matter. We are just so used to seeing a man and woman dancing together.”

However, Ellen isn’t trying to hate on DWTS possibly using same sex couples soon:

“I think that’s great that they’re going to do that,” she clarified.

As for her lady’s plans to hit the dancefloor, Ellen claims she’s in the dark. “I don’t know if she is going to do it or not,” Ellen said. “She won’t tell me. We’ll find out.”
