Kim Kardashian seemingly has it all: A killer body, stunning good looks, countless adoring fans and a multimillion-dollar empire. Who wouldn’t be happy with that?
But for the 30-year-old beauty, the one thing she wants and doesn’t have is a boyfriend. “I have always been the one in a relationship. I like that role; I want that best friend partnership,” Kim tells People magazine. While she has longed to be married like her younger sister Khloe, the reality star has learned her lesson through a series of failed relationships — including a four-year marriage to music producer Damon Thomas that ended in divorce in 2004, and a one-year relationship with NFL star Reggie Bush.
Here’s what she’s learned: Just let it happen naturally.
“I want to fall in love, but I’m not desperately looking for it,” she says. “I’m not going to try to map out who the next person I date should be.” Before, Kim was in a hurry to find her lifelong partner and start a family, but now the reality star has chilled out and said, “give me a few years before that happens. A guy isn’t the only thing that makes me happy. If I never find romance or love, that will be okay. It’s what I want, but it doesn’t define me.”
But if she does meet “the one” Kim has made it clear she will actually stop being in the spotlight as much as she has been. “ Whatever relationship I’ll be in next, I realize I can’t be this work machine all the time. It’s not realistic. I want a normal relationship.”
