Emily Procter Says She Doesn't Want To Give Birth In Her Bathtub. Can You Relate?

The CSI: Miami star has no intentions of becoming a first-time mother at home. “I will definitely go to the hospital — I am no spring chicken,” she says.

When Emily Procter’s boyfriend, musician Paul Bryan, suggested she try a trendy way to give birth when she goes into labor with their first child, she just laughed. “My boyfriend suggested we have a water birth, to which I replied, ‘Are you going to clean the tub?’ That’s usually my job, and I’m not doing it,” she tells People.com.

Emily’s bump is so big people think she’s having twins

It seems that age is playing a factor in the CSI: Miami star’s decision to head to the hospital when her contractions start coming fast and furious. “I told Paul, ‘Look, if I were 25, maybe we could have a home birth. I’m 41. We’re going to the hospital.” Did you ever consider giving birth at home, HollyMoms? If so, what did you end up doing?

Find out Emily’s secret for combating stretch marks

Besides knowing where she wants to deliver, Emily, who is due in December, has been learning everything she can about caring for babies. “I think I’m over-preparing,” she admits. “I have us signed up for baby CPR, if we’ve done our homework then no matter what life throws at us, we’ll be prepared.”

What else should she be studying up on? If you have any tips or suggestions for the mom-to-be, please feel free to share them in the comment section below!

I am happy for you just relax and enjoy her. I had six and loved every one of them. Now the oldest is in his 50′s and the youngest in her early 40′s.

My advice for Emily would be:

(1) Trust your “mommy intuition” because “mommy intuition” is always right.

(2) Don’t let the horror stories about childbirth scare you too much. If it was that bad, I wouldn’t have done it twice!

(3) Cardinal Rule for New Mommies – no matter whether it’s daytime or nighttime, when the baby sleeps, you sleep. I didn’t do that for the first couple of days after my son was born, and I wound up being so sleep deprived that I couldn’t think straight and almost collapsed.
