Jo Frost has spent six years taking care of other peoples’ kids on Supernanny — now she’s hanging up her cape to focus on finding love and having her own babies.
Hey HollyMoms, you’re going to need to find a new TV nanny to turn to when your kids misbehave. Jo Frost — you probably know (and love) her as the cape-wearing star of Supernanny — is giving herself an everlasting time out from the show. “I have decided to hang up my cape,” the 39-year-old tells the New York Post. “It was a very conscious decision, through much reflection.”
Surprisingly, taking care of other peoples’ brats didn’t push her over the edge. Jo says she’s leaving the childcare biz in order to create more balance in her life. She’s been living out of suitcases for years as she travels all around America and her native Britain, working 46 weeks out of the year helping families calm down their kiddies. Can you believe she doesn’t even have her own house? She crashes at her father’s place when she’s in the UK!
Now she’s ready to trade dirty diapers for dates. That’s right — Jo is single and ready to mingle. “I am definitely excited about dating and being in a committed relationship. That is all exciting stuff for me around the corner,” she tells the paper. “Proper balance will allow me to date and have a relationship and look at my own future of having a family.”
While her Supernanny days are behind her, Jo isn’t retiring completely. “I’m passionate about my work,” says the lovable workaholic. “And that won’t change. I will certainly not be giving up what my public service is to America and the world. I don’t think you’ll be seeing less of me. I just think it will be a different way that you see me.”
So, stay tuned HollyMoms, because Jo is hoping to bring her European series Extreme Parental Guidance to the states soon. We wish her lots of luck in her pursuit of love! And when she does have kids, we have a feeling they’ll be the best behaved tots ever. Don’t you think?
