Should parents be allowed to “beat the crap” out of their kids? Tell us what you think!
Can you believe this? Pink thinks it’s a great idea to spank your children! And she’s not just talking about a light tap on the butt, either: “I think parents need to beat the crap out of their kids,” the 31-year-old pop star tells Access Hollywood!
Have you ever heard of the RIE method? Tobey Maguire swears by it!
“Yes, I think the whole spanking and how it’s all gotten P.C. is just for the birds,” says Pink.
Pink herself got paddled on the butt a time or two as a child by her dad. “Oh, he put me through a wall,” says Pink. “It’s the only reason I’m still here. It’s the only reason I’m still alive.”
Study shows that babies who cry a lot have behavioral problems later on!
In Pink’s home, spanking was considered a form of punishment, not child abuse. Pink was such a bad child (she started smoking at age 9 and by her early teens was doing acid, ecstasy and running away from home) that her parents even had to take the most extreme of measures.
Be careful: the baby blues can affect your kids as well!
At age 15, they threw her out of their home. “I deserved it,” confesses Pink. “I would have kicked me out when I was 8.”
While some of us may have grown up getting the occasional spanking from our parents, it’s pretty much frowned upon now. HollyMoms, do you agree with Pink — is hitting a child ever acceptable? Share your thoughts below!

I don’t know. I was sexually and physically abused as a child. It scarred me for the rest of my life. I did not realize what happened to me was considered abuse though until I shared it to some people and it shocked them and they said it was considered abuse. I think PINK is giving her parents excuses for beating her. I’m sure my sister would have said the same thing, “I got into drugs at an early age so they had to take extreme measure.” I think, on the other hand, that it was the abuse that caused her to resort to drugs at an early age.
