The singer, who confirmed this week that she’s expecting, says that she’s “nauseous and exhausted.” Welcome to pregnancy, Mariah!
Just because she’s a pop diva doesn’t mean Mariah Carey is exempt from the same draining symptoms of pregnancy as everyone else. A day after she confirmed to the world that she’s pregnant, the 40-year-old mom-to-be complained to her husband Nick Cannon, 30, on his syndicated radio show, Rollin’ with Nick Cannon this morning that “right now, I feel nauseous and exhausted.”
But that hasn’t stopped her from working. She shot two music videos yesterday (Oct. 21) for her new Christmas album, Merry Christmas II You, which made Nick ask when she’ll stop working. Mariah admitted that it probably won’t be until “after New Year’s,” but then told him she has some surprises in store for him come holiday time. “I got big plans for you! We’ve gotta talk about the big plans!” When he asked her what they were, she admitted they couldn’t be said on the radio. “We’ll talk about that, but not in front of millions of people,” she said with a laugh.
She also admitted that she hadn’t spoken in person to anyone since she announced her pregnancy on the Today show early yesterday, and then she began making fun of the voice Nick was using on the radio. “It’s not a radio voice! It’s my own voice!” he protested as she giggled at him. But after he prodded her a little, she admitted that finally letting the world know that she is, in fact, with child, was “a huge relief. It made everyone else around me relax because, whatever they thought, they don’t have to be extra super cautious or anything. That’s how people were acting.”
Mariah is due in the spring. Congratulations to the happy couple! Based on their playfulness on the radio this morning, it’s clear that they’re over the moon about becoming parents.
