Padma Lakshmi looks amazing for a woman who gave birth to a baby girl in February. But you would look fantastic too if you followed her super intense post-baby workout! That’s one way to burn off every tasty calorie she consumes on Top Chef.
Padma Lakshmi gave birth to a baby girl, Krishna, in February, but clearly she didn’t consider motherhood to be an excuse to let herself go. Instead, she kicked her workouts into overdrive. “I woke up at 6 a.m., I nursed. Then I ran up and down 70 flights of stairs,” the Top Chef host tells PopEater.com about her daily fitness schedule. “Then I had breakfast, then went to the gym and lifted weights for an hour. Then I walked home.” Whew. I’m exhausted just reading that! Is it just me or does it seem crazy to workout before working out?
Most new moms have a hard time squeezing a workout in to their hectic daily lives. That’s why most of us take an eternity to get our bodies back into pre-baby shape. Apparently, Padma is a member of that rare breed known as supermom. The 39-year-old New Yorker doesn’t even look like she ever had a baby in that flat belly.
According to Padma, she’s not the only lady on the move at home. “[Krishna’s] great. She’s crawling,” she gushes about her 8-month-old daughter, whose father is Padma’s ex-boyfriend, businessman Adam Dell. The first-time mom can’t get enough of her delicious little girl, and says, “Everything is better with her around. Anything from the beginning of the day til the end.”
If you live in Manhattan be on the lookout for the slim star and her adorable daughter to be trick-or-treating around town on Sunday. “I’m going to dress up, but I haven’t figured out what I’m going to wear,” she reveals about her Halloween plans. Frankly we’re surprised she’s not going to be wearing workout gear, considering how dedicated she is to keeping fit!
