Gossip Girl co-stars Penn Badgley and Blake Lively have broken up — but still have to see each other at work every day. Here’s how to handle such a sticky situation!

Hey there, Upper East Siders — have we got some news for you! Word on the New York City streets is that Blake Lively and her boyfriend of three years, Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley, have called it quits! And unfortunately for these two 23-year-old cuties, they’re stuck seeing one another at work every day. Oh, the indignity!

Although these two managed to stay totally adorably into each other for a lengthy period of time, they couldn’t go the distance, as it were — which is why you should never, ever date a co-worker. You’re stuck seeing your former significant other every single day, when all you want is to move on.

After three years, my guess is that Blake and Penn really do love one another, and are going to handle the situation like mature adults. Hats off to them, I say! It’s completely difficult to deal with a break-up and maintain and professional working relationship at the same time.

To deal with the situation as I’m sure the Gossip Girl co-stars will, you have to respect your ex. Don’t bring another boyfriend around your workplace, or mention one — that’s just rude! Also, please don’t diss your former lover — you’ll feel worse and work may become unbearable.

The moral of this story here, HollywoodLifers, is don’t do so-and-so where you eat. It’s going to come back to bite you sooner or later, no matter how much it may look like love at the time.
