Hollywoodlife.com has learned that MTV is being pulled into the domestic violence investigation into Teen Mom Amber Portwood following the airing of the episode this season in which the 20 year-old punched, slapped and kicked ex-fiance Gary Shirley.
MTV is being subpoenaed by the Madison County Prosecutor’s office for the raw footage of the Teen Mom episode of the disturbing fight, on Sept 28 . Detective Mitch Carroll tells HollywoodLife.com “We are in the process of sending the subpoenas to MTV to get the unedited version of the video. What we saw was the finished copy so we want to get the unedited version as well.” According to Dt. Carroll the subpoena was drafted by the Madison County Prosecutor’s office and was sent out late last week.
Amber & Gary were both questioned Wednesday, Oct 20, by the Anderson Police Department. So far, Dt. Carroll says, MTV has been very cooperative in the investigation. The network has 30 days to respond to the subpoena.
When the episode first aired ,the Anderson Police Dept was inundated with calls from viewers concerned about Amber punching Gary in the head while the couple’s baby Leah was right at her feet. MTV has declined comment.
