Happy Birthday, Carrie Fisher! You're 54 Today, October 21!

The woman who played the iconic Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy turns 54 today!

Carrie Fisher is most famous for her portrayal of Princess Leia in Star Wars, but she has found even more success as a novelist and screenwriter. Known as one of Hollywood’s top script doctors, she was called in to fix the screenplays for Sister Act and The Wedding Singer, while her novel Postcards From the Edge and autobiography Wishful Drinking were both best-sellers. Postcards was made into a film starring Meryl Streep and Wishful Drinking was adapted into a hit one-woman show starring Carrie herself!

Carrie was married to musician Paul Simon, before divorcing him and taking up with talent agent Brian Lourd – with whom she has a daughter Billie Catherine, 18. Carrie is currently touring Australia with her hit show Wishful Drinking and enjoying this new chapter in her life. May the force be with her on her birthday!
