Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil are counting down the days until they get to meet their twin boys, but she admits that multiple failed IVF attempts took a toll on her.
Singing sensation Celine Dion is less than a month away from giving birth to the miracle babies she’s struggled for years to conceive. As a precaution she’s currently on bed rest in a Florida hospital, but she isn’t letting that get her down. She’s feeling “very well” and “very, very privileged and fortunate” she reveals in an exclusive new interview.
Years of IVF and miscarriages took a toll on the 42-year-old Canadian and her husband, Rene Angelil, 68, who live in Jupiter Island, Florida. “IVF is difficult emotionally,” she tells Hello! Canada magazine. Celine credits Rene and their 9-year-old son, Rene-Charles, with giving her the support and encouragement to continue the grueling hormone treatments which finally resulted in a successful pregnancy with twin boys. “You have to keep in mind that you are so fortunate to have a family, you are a mom, you have a husband and you are lucky.”
Rene, who has three sons from a previous marriage, considers the soon-to-be-born twins to be a blessing. But, the first time he had a child with Celine was equally amazing for him. “When Rene-Charles was born, I understood what a miracle was. I would have died for him,” he says. It’s always great to see a father so in love with his family. Those twin boys are very lucky babies, indeed.
