Christina Aguilera hasn’t wanted to get out of bed since splitting with husband Jordan Bratmand but she’s forcing herself to keep going for the sake of her son, Max. “Right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day,” she tells Redbook. Can you relate, HollyMoms?

“It’s not easy and there have been a lot of tears and sadness,” confesses Christina Aguilera about separating from music producer Jordan Bratman after nearly five years of marriage. The 29-year-old singer, who will appear on the December cover of Redbook opens up to the magazine about becoming a single mother to her son Max, 2.

“Thankfully, I have Max to keep me on the sane path,”  Christina tells the magazine. “His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe.”

That’s apparently easier said than done, since there have been days when Christina doesn’t want to face the reality of her marital crisis. “It’s impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.” HollyMoms, if you’ve lived through a divorce or a bad breakup, we want you to share your survival tips in the comments section.

Interestingly, the only subject that the “Not Myself Tonight” singer remains tight-lipped about is the reasons why both she and Jordan, 33, decided to call it quits. “Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private,” she says. We can respect that, Christina.
