LAURA'S LOVE LIFE ADVICE: Taylor Swift Loves Being Single, And Here's Why You Should, Too!

She’s had a year of failed relationships, but Taylor doesn’t feel broken by her heartbreak: she’s embracing her single status — and you should, too!

We’ve all lamented our single status and yearned for a boyfriend at one point or another in our lives, right? Well, here’s a thought: what if we put that desire aside and accepted our single status as something wonderful?

After a year of heartbreaks — John Mayer crushed her tender, 20-year-old heart, Taylor Swift is standing up and proclaiming that being boyfriend-less is a good thing. And you know what? I believe her!

Being single is wonderful and I love it,” she told People magazine. “I don’t ever have a morning where I wake up and say, ‘I really need to find a boyfriend today.'”

Atta girl! If only we all had the same attitude. From ultimate fictional singleton Bridget Jones lamenting that she’d die all alone and found half-eaten by an Alsatian (wild dog) to the ladies of Sex and the City tireless pursuit of, well, sex in the city, we’ve been inundated with the information that we need a respective other to make us happy — and to that I call some serious BS.

Sure, having a boyfriend is fun. It’s nice to have someone to cuddle up to at night and talk about your day with — but it isn’t necessary. Plus — especially in Taylor’s case — she’s been hurt so badly by two men (John reportedly chewed her up and threw her out immediately after recording their duet “Half of My Heart” while ex-BF Joe Jonas dumped her via a phone call) that there really isn’t any real reason to run back into another relationship.

Here’s the bottom line: you WILL find love one day, so why rush it? Enjoy being single and free — it’s a blessing, not a curse!

Tell me how YOU feel, HollywoodLifers. Do you think being single is a good thing, or would you rather have a boyfriend no matter what?

I like being single! How are you going to know what and who you like until you try him?

Saying you want a boyfriend is so desperado, but isn’t that what everyone wants? No one actually LIKES being single, do they?

I feel like most girls aren’t actually happy to be single, and would much rather have a boyfriend. Saying you’re happily single is a defense mechanism — for me at least.

Wow,here’s the vote so far… 72% are singletons and happy and 28% want a boyfriend no matter what. I say the ‘no matter whats’ must have self-esteem or money issues.
