Florence Got The Boot On 'DWTS,' But Thank Goodness Bristol 'The Pistol' Was Saved!

Despite having the lowest scores this week on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ Kyle Massey and Bristol ‘The Pistol’ Palin were saved from elimination!

We gotta hand it to 76-year-old Florence Henderson for staying in the dancing game so long! She managed to make it four toe-tapping weeks, beating out fellow contestants David Hasslehoff, Margaret Cho and Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, before she took her last bow on the results show Oct. 19.

Florence and partner Corky Ballas‘ elimination isn’t a complete shock, but we do feel bad she was canned after her Oct. 18 performance DTWS judge, Len Goodman called “Her best dance of the competition.” Could it be her over-sexed image  was too much for America to handle?

What we’re scratching our heads about is how the bottom two scorers were reprieved from elimination. Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin were considered likely to wind up in the bottom three after their underwhelming performances. Bristol especially, who has been a regular in the bottom three. I think we’re going to credit her ridiculous gorilla costume for her pass to next week’s show.

Fans weren’t feeling their usual favorites, Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough who also landed in the bottom three with NBA star Rick Fox and partner Cheryl Burke.

For her part, Florence handled her elimination with grace and let everyone know how much she treasured her time on the show.

“I have been in TV for over 50 years I have to say in all honesty this is one of the best produced shows I have ever been on,” she said. “I’ve loved this show since it began. I hope I’ve inspired people to get up off their behind and move and dance and have fun. I feel like I have grown as a person and a performer. I feel like a kid again!”

Aww Flo, we’re sorry to see you go, but you definitely danced your way into our hearts!

PS – I was very sad to see Florence go. She was great. “The Pistol” looks like she doesn’t even want to be there.

Florence stayed on the show for five toe-tapping weeks, not four.

Also, unless they specify the couples in jeopardy are in the bottom two or three, they may not actually be in the bottom two or three. Just FYI for future articles you write.

I actually almost started crying when I saw Florence go, but she handled leaving a hell of a lot better than that Jersey douchebag The Situation.

I’m sure I’ve said this before, but Jersey and everyone from there should be loaded onto a rocket and launched into the sun. At least then they wouldn’t need fake tans.
