'DWTS' Ratings Shocker! Numbers Are Down — Was The Situation The Show's Real Winner?

One week after letting Mike ‘The Situation” Sorrentino go, Dancing With The Stars took a big hit in their ratings. Was he was the secret to this season’s success?

Dancing With The Stars endured three weeks of awkward dancing and chest-baring from 28-year-old Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino before he was voted off, disappointing fans of the Jersey Shore juicehead. However, no one in Hollywood  batted an eye until the show’s ratings took a nose dive!

It could just be coincidence, but since The Situation has been sidelined, DWTS has experienced its lowest ratings of the season with only 18 million viewers in 18-49 age bracket! That’s 1 million less than the previous weeks impressive 19 million pull!  The Situation doesn’t possess amazing dance skills, but he has captured the attention and curiosity of millions who watch him drink, dictate and GTL his life away on MTV’s hit reality show, Jersey Shore.

Now, it seems regardless of his skill, he was the show’s big draw that has been erased from competition. The Situation’s initial casting on Dancing With The Stars was met with mixed reactions. His Jersey Shore castmates predicted his demise while fans faithfully rooted for him week after week.

Now ABC will just have to wait and see how the show fairs without the fist pumping, self-promoting dynamo.

We’ll still be watching! Will you? Sound off below!

Excellent items from you, man. I have take note your stuff previous to and you’re just extremely excellent. I really like what you have bought right here, certainly like what you are stating and the best way during which you are saying it. You’re making it entertaining and you continue to care for to stay it sensible. I can not wait to read far more from you. That is really a terrific site.

I usually only watch DWTS toward the end…when only the really good dancers are left. This season, though, I was glued to the set to see the Situation do his thing. I don’t have a celebrity crush on him or anything…in fact at best I can hardly stand the guy. But DWTS Situation was a different guy from Jersey Shore Situation. On DWTS he seemed innocent, charming, human, even flawed. He was charismatic and like a car wreck you didn’t really wanna watch, but you couldn’t turn away either. I watch now to catch Derek and Jennifer, but that’s it…I’ve totally lost interest otherwise. I wish they’d bring him back!

I had never seen his show but when he went on Dancing, which by the way I never really watched, I decided to see what he was all about. So I watched a few episodes & found him oddly insightful & entertaining. I watched the first episode & saw Bristol & thought ok it was painful to watch but hey its the first week. the judges were gushing over her but I was like whatever, probably just because of her mom. Then Mike came out, said he’d only gotten to practice for 5 days & I thought he did even better & the judges ripped him a new one. I thought the DWTS show allowed him to show his true self & I enjoyed watching him above all others because you could see that he was really putting a lot of effort and wanted to do well and was having fun too. I only watched because of him and won’t anymore. He’s a fun-loving guy & I think he will go along way in his own career because as he himself says he’s got incredible mass appeal.

Nope…don’t care to watch now! Well, I like Audrina, but I wouldn’t freak out if I missed the show like I would have when Mike was on!! I wanted to see him dance, I wanted to see him get better…he has character and he did his best!! Great attitude and fun to watch :)
