The MTV host is now fighting for his life wiping out on his bike and being knocked unconscious.
TJ Lavin, host of MTV’s The Challenge: Cutthroat, was serious injured during a BMX accident Oct. 14 at the Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas. TJ, 33, was admitted to University Medical Center and listed in critical condition, a rep for the hospital confirmed to ESPN. No further details were made available.
TJ had been attempting a “nic nac combination” over the second set of the course when something went wrong and he failed to get his feet back on the pedals before landing. As a result, TJ was ejected from his bike and knocked unconscious, suffering both a shattered wrist and broken ribs.
According to E! Online, doctors at the UMC placed the X-Games champ into a medically induced coma to reduce the swelling in his brain.
What a tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with TJ.
