The actress’ hair guru gives you precise instructions to recreate her glam new color!

How much are you loving Hilary Duff’s lovely new hair color?!? The star is on the road promoting her new book, Elixir, and everyone is talking about her glamorous locks! Want to get the look? I’ve got the details:

I called celebrity colorist and Redken consultant Tracey Cunningham, the woman behind Duff’s new hair hue, to get you the exact instruction to recreate her look. So, print this post, head to your local salon (a national directory can be found here) and have them follow these exact steps. (Even if you don’t follow the next few lines — trust me, your stylist will get it.)

“Hilary’s lowlights were applied first with a mixture of 1 oz. Shades EQ 07NB Chestnut, 1 oz. Shades EQ 07GB  Butterscotch and 2 oz. Shades EQ Processing Solution. I created a shiny finish with a custom mixture of ½ oz. Shades EQ 07G Saffron, ½ oz. Shades EQ 09AA Papaya, ½ oz. Shades EQ 08C Cayenne and 1 ½ oz. Shades EQ Processing Solution. The combination of these two processes will create Hilary’s unique and beautiful haircolor.”

You’ll want to use color-safe products to maintain your new look. If you’re a California girl like Hilary, be sure to protect your color with Redken Color Extend Sun After-Sun Shampoo and Redken Color Extend Sun After-Sun Mask. Be sure to protect your hair with Pureology Essential Repair Color Max, a daily protecting mist and once a week apply Pureology Essential Repair Restorative Hair Masque to keep your hair gorgeous and healthy.

What do you think, BFFs? Do you like Duff’s new ‘do? Vote now!

You are so cool! I do not think I’ve read something like
that before. So good to find another person with some original thoughts on this issue.
Seriously.. many thanks for starting this up. This
website is one thing that is required on the web, someone
with a bit of originality!

Hillary’s hair has a lot of style to it as well as great color. Something helpful to consider with a style like this is the Roux Fanci-Full Color Styling Mousse available at This can give you body and style while imparting soft color tones and accents.
