Here are Six Things You Never Knew About Kelly Hu!

  • Vampire Diaries and Hawaii 5-0 are very different from each other. Vampire Diaries is a reality-like show and it was so fun, and of course, I got to play a vampire! But in Hawaii 5-0 I’m a liaison to the governor and so I’m memorizing a lot more lines.
  • Ian (Somerhalder) and I were in a movie together called The Tournament. And as soon as I met him I immediately had a crush on him!
  • I was visiting troops in Katar and I met a solider there who was on R and R. When he saw me his face lit up. I thought he was going to be crazy but the first thing he said was “don’t think that I’m crazy, I’m not a stalker.” He pulls up his pant leg and he has a tattoo of me on his leg! I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
  • I played Kurt Cameron’s love interest in Growing Pains when I was 18. That’s actually what got me into the business.
  • Hawaii is such a small place and everyone knows everyone that is from here. People are so supportive of others who come from Hawaii. You see it in shows like American Idol because everyone on the islands get together and votes
  • I am going back and forth between Beijing, LA, and Hawaii right now and I’m learning Mandarin.”
