Watch as Vampire Diaries creator Kevin spills on Elena and Stefan’s future (or lack thereof!)

If you’re a major Elena/Stefan shipper, you might want to stop reading now… because this news is NOT pretty. HollywoodLife.com was front row Oct. 10 for New York Comic Con’s Vampire Diaries panel, and developer/writer/executive producer Kevin Williamson cryptically hinted that Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) might be hitting a bump in their relationship. Though he wouldn’t come right out and say it, he did admit: “You don’t always end up with your soulmate.”

Sorry, Stefan and Elena have always lived in a little bubble and Stefan always put Elena on a pedestal. Elena turning into a vampire will expose their little world of denial. And the show will go on for 3 more seasons. Think of it as Chapter 1 (seasons 1-3), as Stefan/Elena’s victory BUT Chapter 2 (seasons 4-6) will be OURS. “It’s right, just not right now.”
“I can’t think about always. All I can think about is right now.” DE forever!

Its such as you learn my mind! You seem to understand so much about this, such as you wrote the book in it or something. I believe that you just can do with some % to pressure the message home a bit, however instead of that, this is magnificent blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.

Damon and Elena belong together. This has been clear to me since 2×08, and it’s only gotten clearer since then. When Damon told Elena he loved her, then made the choice to not be selfish and want Elena’s happiness over anything including his own, THAT proved to me that what Damon has for Elena is TRUE love. And one day, mark my words, Elena will see it too. She loves Damon right now, but just can’t admit to it. She’s scared and that’s understandable. But one day, Elena will see the truth about her and Damon. And this moment in 2×08 will come back. He compelled her to forget it, but one day she’ll remember. That and the fact that Damon and Elena have the best build up and chemistry of any couple on the show. The writers have taken great care with their relationship. And they sneak in forshadowing of all kinds with them. Look at how the necklace Stefan gave Elena became a Delena thing. Look at how Elena looks at Damon, especially in 2×22, 3×10, 3×01, etc. The most epic romantic moments so far on the show have been given to Delena (2×08, 2×22, 3×10). They also own all the finales. Something significant with regards to them as a couple always happens. The season 1 finale, we saw Damon’s feelings for Elena (b/c he thought that was Elena not Katherine), and in the Season 2 finale we saw Elena and Damon together and Elena trusting him and telling him she liked him just the way he was (which is a romantic thing to say if there ever was one). And now all Season 3 we’ve seen Elena leaning on Damon, Damon always being there for her, Damon being there for her friends and Stefan (He saved Matt in 3×14 which Elena still doesn’t know about AND he’s helping Stefan with his blood lust. He also turned Bonnie’s mom so Stefan didn’t have to do it even though he lost the coin toss). Damon is a true hero, with people he cares about besides Elena. He has a good realtionship now with Alaric and Jeremy, the only family Elena has left. Even Bonnie, as much as she’s wary of vampires,does not have problem with Damon like she used to. Damon has become a man worthy of Elena, and Elena has been falling for him. He was there when Stefan only wanted revenge. He was there all summer for her, never making any moves on her, and was looking for Stefan even more than she was. He was even more upset that Stefan wouldn’t reclaim his humanity than she was. Damon has shown time and again how selfless he can be, and Elena has grown closer and closer to him. And Elena will see one day that he is the man she is meant to be with.

If Stefan and Elena don’t get back together I’ll cry. They are such an adorable couple, I mean remember when he took her up the ferris wheel? When has Damon ever done anything like that? Sure Damon is hot but Stefan cares about Elena. I’m so mad that Klaus ruined what they had, I know I’m not the only one who wants to see them together again !

Are you actually trying to say that Damon DOESN’t care about Elena?? Cmon. I understand being a Stelena shipper, but that’s just flat out untrue. Damon would die for Elena. He’d give Elena up and even help her relationship with Stefan if he though it would make her happy (see episodes 2×08 and 3×15 and 3×16 as proof).What is more romantic than the Delena scene in 3×22, when Damon told Elena that he didn’t regret his choices because it led to him meeting Elena? That is WAY more romantic, and genuine, than any moment Stefan and Elena have shared. Damon would never reject her or leave her for the sake of revenge like Stefan did in Season 3. What matters is not some silly romantic moment on a Ferris wheel. Elena has never been enough for Stefan. He tried to kill himself in Season 1 when he had Elena, he left Elena in Season 3 ep. 9 to get revenge on Klaus. She’s never been enough for him to stop hating himself, and pushing that hate onto Damon as well. Damon has changed because of Elena, and him and Elena together become stronger. He’s always honest with her, even when he knows she won’t agree or won’t like it. That is what Elena needs, not someone (Stefan) who can’t disagree with her because he likes the false image of himself that he sees Elena had until just recently.

Damon wouldn’t do anything romantic like that because he wouldn’t dare to anything to hurt Stefan. Damon may be selfish at times, but he would put Stefan’s feelings above his own. Therefore taking Elena to the top of a ferris wheel, when they’re not together, and when Stefan and Elena are, WOULD be selfish. And that is not Damon.
Your argument is invalid since Damon and Elena have never actually been a couple. so.

Arent they kinda broken up right now anyways? And they’ve broken up a few times before. My point is..no matter how bad things get, Stefan and ELena always find their way back to each other. Stelena FOREVER!
