Taylor Swift is famous for calling out boys who broke her heart through her music, but in her new single, “Back to December,” Taylor is turning the tables and apologizing for her heartbreaking ways!

It was only a year ago that we saw the blossoming romance between Taylor Swift, 20, and 18-year-old Twilight heartthrob, Taylor Lautner, begin to take shape. They were spotted all over Los Angeles, in Taylor Swift’s Nashville, Tenn. haunts and even sending each other not-so-subtle messages during their Saturday Night Live hosting stints. The pair even played lovestruck teenagers in the movie Valentines Day, but before the relationship could fully take off, it seemed to crash and burn for no reason, by what was rumored to be Taylor Swift’s doing!

Now, she seems to be singing him an apology in her new song, “Back to December.” In the sneak peek of her song released Oct. 10, Taylor opens up about the break-up-behind-the-song and why she felt the need to write an apology.

“‘Back To December’ addresses a first for me in I’ve never apologized to someone in a song before,” she said. “Whether it’s good or bad, but the person I wrote this song about, deserves this. The person was great to me, in our relationship, and I was really careless with him. The song is full of words that I would say to him.”

Although Taylor didn’t specifically say the song was about Taylor Lautner, there are a couple factors that point to the song being penned with him in mind. She mentions missing “his tan skin” and “I’d go back to December and turn around and make it alright.” Taylor Lautner does have famously tan skin and they did break up last December. Hmmm…

If that isn’t enough to make you think Taylor Lautner is the song’s front running subject matter, Taylor Swift admitted to writing the song “The Story Of Us” about a guy she had just broken up with after sitting six seats away from him at an awards ceremony. It’s been speculated the song is also about Taylor Lautner. Who else could it be besides Joe Jonas, whom she has not had any favorable things to say about post their 27-second break up?

Whatever the case, it’s nice to see Taylor taking responsibility and not blaming guys for everything!
