Utah Authorities Preparing To Prosecute 'Sister Wives' Stars — Could Be Facing Five Years In Jail!

It looks like the Brown family could be looking at a long trial and potential lengthy stay in prison if convicted!

It appears that love does not, in fact, conquer all. Kody Brown and his three wives, Meri, Janelle and Christine could be facing up to five years in prison for committing bigamy! TMZ reports, “The Utah County Attorney has confirmed … the Lehi Police Department has completed their felony bigamy investigation into Kody Brown and his gigantic family — and the case has been turned over to the Utah County Attorney … who will ultimately decide whether or not to charge the family with a crime.”

Kody’s fiancee Robyn cannot be charged, unless of course she enters into a union with Kody. so she may want to delay those wedding plans until this whole investigation is over.

The stars of the incredibly popular new show Sister Wives have admitted they were aware of the risk they were taking by being on the TLC show, which leads one to question the family’s morals. Perhaps these four should have tried to be more aware of the fact that thirteen children could be without their parents for five years. One would think most parents would value that over a shot at television fame.

This is retarded. There is no child abuse and the woman want to be there! I guess we should arrest Hugh Heffner too! Charlie Sheen does it, Oh wait its “cool” when they do it, but illegal when others do it. He is only married on paper to one of the women, the others he had a commitment ceremony for, not a marriage. If they are not breaking tax laws or insurance laws or abuse laws, they should be able to do what they want. There is a difference when there is forced marriages! These woman are willingly going through commitment ceramonies. Goodness leave them alone!

In today’s society, we should be grateful as taxpaying citizens that are the responsible people that they are. The children do truly seem to be well adjusted and happy. Ane very well educated. I personally could not live that lifestyle, but should they choose to do so and no one is getting hurt , really what business is it of anyone else’s what people in their lifestyle. There are far too many other things going on in our world today, that we as a society, should concern ourselves with…child abuse, people that are homeless and hungry…I say look in our OWN backyard, not someone else’s bedroom…I never missed an episode

Let happy people be. My mother was sick when I was growing up and several times told me that she wished there was more than one mom in her relationship to add support and the care that only a mom can give. At the break table we joke about wishing we had an extra wife to help with things around the house. Times are changing. Two incomes are now needed at least with a second wife or husband someone would be able to stay home with the kids and give extra support. For those that would bash me, I am married and in a monogamous relationship but am open minded enough that I can see why this would work as a lifestyle choice.

The part that bothers me the most concerning this video is the wife sitting there pregnant with his child, is not even next to him. Talk about BAD TIMMING idiot, why should you be ”courting” while one of your ”wives” is ready to pop!

Really.. Shouldn’t they focus on the real criminals????? Like molestors, rapist and killers.. I am dissapointed to see this. There are so many other problems in every state, and here we are bothering this family that has no problem with their living situation..I am sure there are others families that have abuse problems focus on them! What a waste of time and the tax payers doller.. How about this no trial and give all the money that would have been spent on this stupid trial to the homeless people in Utah. What a better plan that would be.

You say “these weirdos produce babies that turn into those criminals…”.

What do you have to support your belief that children of polygamists are more likely to turn into criminals?

“…because they are weird.” That’s the stupidest argument I’ve heard all day!

You’re just pulling a bunch of unsupported garbage out of your a**.

Where are you getting your information? Their kids are well rounded, well educated. They have the same chance of falling into bad crowds like any other SIngle family children. Just because they don’t follow societies “normal” doesn’t mean they are “weird” or will have a greater chance of producing criminals. Just because you don’t agree with this life style doesn’t mean they have to conform to your ideals. As long as there is no abuse or tax fraud (like single families) they should beable to do anything they darn well please. It wasn’t so long ago that gay people had to worry about going to jail too, and also had the same stigma. People should be able to do what they want as long as no one else is getting hurt! You are so wrapped up in your own ignorance to realize that your ideals are not comfortable to them. LEAVE THEM ALONE. And go take a open minded pill.

I don’t prescribe to being married to multiple women but it’s interesting, isn’t it? This same guy could ‘shack-up’ with these same women – have the same number of kids, OUT of wedlock, and the authorities would see nothing wrong with it. But LEGITIMIZE it, with marriage, and they are all over it. Further to the point is that some states are now legalizing marriage between same-sex couples – YET these same states, who have done this, wouldn’t allow a multiple hetro-partner-situation, to my knowledge.

or maybe utah should join modern society and let a happy, healthy family be.

There is nothing wrong with so many people in a marriage except for OTHER PEOPLE BEING WEIRDED OUT.

Let them be. Don’t punish them, or their children, just because you personally would not join such a marriage.

Judge Jury and Conviction

Posted at 12:22 PM on October 13, 2010

Today society is so judgmental on anything except what we believe is right. Why can’t people have different beliefs? We all have self-judge others. Do you think your way of life is all that. I feel that everyone should just accept others beliefs maybe the world would be a better place. We are all different in many ways. This is why the world is in such turmoil.
