EXCLUSIVE! Uber-Producer J.R. Rotem Declares: 'Christina Aguilera Needs A Total Revamp!'

J.R. has worked with everyone from Britney Spears to Beyonce Knowles, but he says that no one needs to change up their sound more than Christina. Find out why!

J.R. Rotem has worked with the creme de la creme of female artists; he’s the man responsible for creating Beyonce‘s super-hit “Survivor” and Britney Spears’ “Everybody.” So given his expertise, we were surprised to hear that he thought Christina Aguilera was the artist most in need of a revamp. But why?

“If I was working on Christina‘s album, I would try to focus on an album that isn’t doing the dance music. I’d give her timeless songs that showcase her voice. Her forte is her voice,” the super-producer, who’s currently working with Nikki Minaj and Jason Derulo, explained to HollywoodLife.com exclusively during a phone chat. “She can sing anything, but her shining in the best light would be more timeless songs.

Don’t get him wrong — he loves the 29-year-old singer — so this definitely isn’t a criticism! “I’m a huge fan of Christina Aguilera’s voice!” he assures us. “She’s in her own lane — but she should be in more of a Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey virtuoso vocalists lane.”

I don´t think she needs to change her style of singing. She is a versatile singer, and as far as I heard what she needs to change is her “attitude”. A lot of her colleagues are complaining and people who knows her, that she have a problem on how the way she treated people.

I love that she’s always trying new things. One of the best things about Christina is that she takes risks and is always experimenting and challenging herself. She is quite possibly the most versatile vocalist ever. If after almost 15 years in the business, this guy can’t tell that Christina isn’t and doesn’t want to be Whitney or Mariah just because she’s got an amazing voice, then it’s pretty clear he doesn’t understand who she is as an artist. Christina is Christina. I’m sick of how people are always comparing her to other artists instead taking a step back and looking at her for the amazing artist that she is. People need to stop criticizing her for what she’s not and appreciate her for what she is, which is pretty damn great in my opinion.

Hey, if you like Christina support her as the way she is, because she’s the only female pop artist aout there with real talent. SHE EXPERIMENTS, she never goes to THE SAFE thing. She’s a real artist.

The problem is.. She’s not Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston… is it too difficult to understand she’s not only a vocalist??? Her art is not only her voice but also her image, her sounds… She experiments with everything, that’s why she difference from everyone else like Mariah, Celine, Whitney, these are only singers. Next.

Anyways… This guy said he’s fan of her voice, not of her music.. so.. Keep producing Britney and Beyonce. bye boy.

I LOVE Christina Aguilera the way she is! Her music is hot!

Maybe Christina doesn’t want to do music like Whitney Houston,
Christina has ideas of her own, it is her life and her MUSIC.

Just because Christina is a great vocalist doesn’t mean she has to be put in the same category as Mariah or Whitney.

There is nothing wrong with the way Xtina is.

I don’t believe she needs to change anything, Christina is a very talented artist and I love that she experiments with sounds and styles. While some people didn’t like BIONIC that doesn’t mean people can say that she needs a total revamp.

Christina Aguilera will release the music that she wants, she isn’t a puppet. She has always delivered on great music with every release and I will stick beside her as a fan to the end of her career.
