Apparently, the Sept. 11 domestic dispute had been building up for a long time. Bryan and Jenny have always had a troubled marriage since the start!
It’s no surprise that Raising Sextuplets star Jennifer Masche decided to file for legal separation from her husband Bryan Masche on Sept. 17 given the couple’s turbulent past. Long before the Sept. 11 incident when Bryan was arrested for a domestic dispute, the couple had history of fighting within their marriage!
“We knew marriage was going to be hard no matter what,” Jenny said shortly after giving birth to the couple’s sextuplets — Bailey, Blake, Cole, Grant, Molli and Savanna — on June 11, 2007, and starting to film their reality show. “Brutal fights” were already a part of their relationship.
“We have ground rules … [including] never go to bed angry,” Jenny said. “So, there [are] some nights we’re up really, really, really late or even all night.” The couple also started seeing a marriage counselor.
And when Bryan and Jenny decided to move to Destin, FL, leaving behind their families in Campe Verde, AZ, this added more strain to their marriage. “In Florida, it was rough,” explained Jenny’s brother Jeff Simbric. “I don’t think they put a lot of thought into it. If they had stuck here with our family support, it would have been better.”
Jenny and Bryan thought the move would make it easier for them to thrive as a family, but instead Bryan seemed to take less responsibility as a parent, especially on the show. “[Bryan] seemed different than what I saw on the show,” a family friend told People magazine. “He was less hands-on in the show than in person. And Jenny is mother of the year.”
