'Kitchen Nightmares' Chef Joseph, Who Committed Suicide, Had A Mistress! Why Is There Always A Mistress?

Wed, September 29, 2010 9:19am EDT by 7 Comments

This tragic story takes a shocking turn as sources now say Joseph was having an affair with his much-younger pastry chef!

Joseph Cerniglia‘s wife and kids aren’t the only ones mourning his Sept. 24 suicide — his alleged girlfriend, 27-year-old Jessica Marotta, is also said to be completely beside herself. Jessica worked as a pastry chef at Joseph’s New Jersey restaurant Campania, before being promoted to co-owner. Though Jessica isn’t speaking about the tragedy, her mother Ana tells the New York Post that Jessica is “devastated. [She and Joseph] loved each other very much.”

Joseph, 39, and wife Melissa, who had three children together, were reportedly separated when he leapt from the George Washington Bridge. In fact, local jewelry store owner Gary Pollina tells the Post that Joseph and his wife had been separated “for a long time.”

“I don’t think they were doing so well, even during Kitchen Nightmares,” Gary says. “I assumed [Joseph and Jessica were together] because of the way they interacted with each other. They were very close.”

wow. why all the hate for the girlfriend? i was just assuming she came in the picture after he was separated, but everyone else seems to be assuming she broke up the marriage. did i miss something? she didn’t do anything wrong if she didn’t cause the separation, right? regardless, if she was close to him, sympathies to her, as well as his children and their mother who no doubt loved him even if they were separated.

The NYC tabloids are having a feeding frenzy (pls. excuse the pun) on this story and it makes me very, very angry! The NY Post writes that he had been separated from his wife for a period of time before this happened. The restaurant business in NY is a widow-maker! Any woman who marries a Chef who owns or wants to own a restaurant needs to have her head examined. Unless she is hands-on in the business, she is gonna watch a lot of TV alone. This was a terrible tragedy for his wife, children, family, his restaurant employees and customers. I wish he had had someone to talk with before he took his life. It breaks my heart.

If he was still married the word for the other woman would be mistress not girlfriend. Who cares how the mistress feels? She’s the second banana. It’s the WIFE and kids that matter. They are the only ones that anybody should be commenting on how they feel.

Here is the best part: if you watch the episode of Kitchen Nightmares where Ramsey was there, she goes on camera to say that she is the biggest flirt in the restaurant. I love it when whores identify themselves like that so you can spot them without worry. I guess he did not love her that much if he still jumped.

Wait… so, because a close friend is devastated by his death, that PROVES there was an affair? Jeezus, you people will do anything for a headline. You’re a sick person.
