Reports claim Lindsay is going to a ‘live-in’ rehab facility outside of LA, but we hear she might be going back to Promises, which still falls in LA county lines.

UPDATE: As of 12:15 PST Sept. 28, TMZ is reporting that Lindsay Lohan has checked into a live-in rehab facility. Check back for her whereabouts soon…

Lindsay Lohan, 24, could be going back to rehab for the fifth time, and TMZ is reporting that the fallen starlet has already chosen a “live-in” rehab facility. spoke to sources close to Lindsay who told us she’s looking to go back to Promises Addiction Treatment Center in Malibu, Calif., the same facility she attended for 45 days in 2007.

“She’s looking at going to Promises,” our source told us. “She hopes to make the decision by mid-week. She is scared of going back to jail again so she is attempting to do anything to make the judge have some leniency on her. Her final selection is also based on cost because she can only afford certain locations.”

Promises, which costs $54,500 for a minimum stay of 31 days, is a favorite among celebrities and states on their website: “The Promises Malibu facility is designed for clients who are accustomed to luxury, including celebrities, business executives, government officials, and others who prefer superior quality addiction treatment in a beautiful setting and where the highest privacy standards are required.”

The facility has a garden, swimming pools, a tennis court, streams, rock climbing and hiking.

Meanwhile, reports that Lindsay is thinking of going to the Betty Ford Clinic in Rancho Mirage, Calif., but when we contacted the facility, a representative wouldn’t confirm the report. When asked for a comment, one employee said, “This is the first I’ve heard of it.”

Lindsay is expected to stand before Judge Elden Fox on Oct. 22 to receive her punishment for violating the original terms of her probation — and she might wind up back in jail. We spoke to the LA County Sheriff’s Department and LA County Probation Department, who both say Lindsay must get permission to enter into rehab and the location must be approved.

she’s on her fifth stint at rehab. hello. maybe it’s time for a different approach, like a lengthy jail stay. i wish the sheriff’s office couldn’t let people out and spoil the judge’s sentences. hopefully the next time this girl gets busted with drugs, they don’t negotiate it down to a misdemeanor again… she’d be getting a lot harsher treatment if the d.a.’s office hadn’t done such a sucker deal for a plea.
