Look, my mother is a jewelry designer and we’re not rich by any far stroke of the boat, but a $10k ring isn’t such a rarity if it’s good metal and good quality/rare stones. When I was 17 I wore a $5k ring, and my mother runs around in a 30k diamond. On top of that, we’re in sweatpants from target.

The purses are excessive, but jewelry is an investment.
