Jen’s Cougar Town co-star Dan Byrd says that we may just be surprised to see a new side of the A-list actress, and that her role might be a recurring one!

Jennifer Aniston has taken a beating lately for playing the same, tired role in every single film — but her one-time Cougar Town co-star Dan Byrd says this time around, you’re going to see something different from the way-too-predictable actress!

“I think Jen’s character is sort of fun and different for her, something, if it is successful, could hopefully recur in some type of capacity.  She obviously has quite a schedule, but her and Courteney are sisters,  you know,” the 24-year-old actor, who plays Courteney Cox‘s son on the hit ABC show, told HollywoodLife.com at the Easy A premiere Sept. 13. “She has a bit of an edge in this [role],” he dished. “We were very lucky and happy to have her.”

Although Dan didn’t get much face time with Jen, he did know she had a blast on-set playing Glenn, the shrink of real-life BFF Courteney’s character, Jules. “I wasn’t directly involved with any of the Jen stuff, but I do know she is a great person and had a lot of fun on the show,” he told us.

While Dan couldn’t stop gushing about Jen, 41, he was equally as effusive about his onscreen mom. “Courteney has these amazing BBQ’s every Sunday at her house!” he reavealed. “I have literally taken it upon myself to go to her amazing house and eat free food, hang out with cool people – and sometimes famous, cool people. It’s a bonus!”

We’ll say. Some guys have all the luck!

Jen appears on Cougar Town‘s season premiere episode, “All Mixed Up”, Sept 22. Will you be watching?
