Designers were starting to replace pin-thin models with curvier ladies and we loved it! But top insiders at a high-powered NYC modeling agency are saying that at this year’s fashion week you’ll notice a change — and not a good one.

Say goodbye to healthy curves and hello to itty-bitty runway models! This year’s 2010 Fall Fashion Week kicked off in NYC Sept. 9 and according to our sources, you’ll be noticing some major changes. HollywoodLife.com spoke to an industry insider who reveals that if you thought your favorite designers were over uber-skinny models — think again.

“For the past six months we’ve been enjoying womanly bodies,” says our source. “But everything is cyclical and the trend is heading back in the other direction. People are tired of seeing those images [of heavier models] and we’re seeing a lot of designers revolt from it.”

Instead of seeing some fresh faces or well-known curvy models like Crystal Renn and Lizzie Miller, our insider says you’ll be seeing the typical famous faces of skinny: Ana Claudia, Carmen Dell’Orefice, Rose Codero, Alana Zimmer and Ming Xi.

But all hope is not lost: the Kardashian girls are launching their new clothing and accessories line on QVC, Sept. 10 — and the line is specifically for curvy women! Kim, Khloe and Kourtney are known for embracing their curves and being “real” role models for the millions of young girls who look up to them.

We did get a chance to speak to Roman Young, the Director of New Faces at NYC’s Wilhelmina Modeling Agency, and he says it won’t always be this way.

“Skinny isn’t the end all be all requirement for models this season.” he says. “You will see a vast variety this season.

BFFs, are you upset to hear that the positive trend of featuring curvy women is reverting back to the old skinny ways?

Most of the models are Victoria secret models!
which are very different than regular models, regular models are mucchhhhhh skinnier than Victoria secret models. They are the “Fat” models of the world and to be a runway model you must be a size two and about six feet tall.

It’s fat people that hate on the skinny girls, because they are insecure.

Oh shut up! I am what you would call “scary skinny” and I eat a lot. Quit trying to say models those size are not healthy. Some of our metabolism are faster than others. GO joke on a fat lady…at least these women arent fat!

Awww the “skinny”people are tired of not seeing flat chested, boy shaped models…boo hoo, after a period of 6 months? Really? How whiney. How do you think 90% of the world feels? And we’ve been dealing with it since Twiggy! Yes, models will always be small (it’s too expensive to make sample sizes big, so we just need to accept it), but there needs to be variety on the runway. Promoting an unhealthy body image stopped being okay a decade ago! I mean, let’s be shallow…some models are picked
not for beauty in the face, but for interesting features (adrogenious *sp?*), and half wouldn’t be stopped on the steet without makeup on. Why can’t their bodies be treated with the same artistic respect?

Models have always been skinny for centuries. I myself am very thin and its not because i don’t eat food. some people actually can’t gain weight and are naturally thin. Same goes for those struggling to lose weight and can’t. If we’re all the same what fun would that be. Model are suppose to be and have always been skinny. If they were fat it would be yuk she’s to big to wear that.

I guess these designers are letting the “skeletons” out of their closets. Hahahahaha
But seriously, these girls look unhealthy. You can’t even concentrate on the clothes they are modeling in the runway. You just focus on their awful and scary skinny appearance. It is NOT appealing at all!!!

Totally agree, VS models are not curvy! it’s extremely irresponsible to refer to them as such, especially if we are trying to send out a message that this what so-called “real women” are supposed to look like!

If you look at Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s photo, you’ll notice that her legs are thinner than the “scary skinny” model’s. The only curves Miranda Kerr has are the result of a push-up bra.

Designers use skinny models because they only act as hangers for the clothes. Unfortunately, the designers don’t want to alter the clothes if a curvier woman were to model it, probably to save on fabric and time. Sucks to be the skinny models who have to starve themselves to act as clothes hangers.

How the HELL is Kim Kardashian a “role model”…. when she became famous from a sex tape? Have we forgotten that already? Have we forgotten that Montana Fishburne’s influence to get into porn was Kim Kardashian and paris Hilton? C’mon you guys…. don’t give Kim credit just because she’s starting a curvy line!!!! SMDH!!!! THAT CHICK IS NOT A ROLE MODEL!!! Maybe her sisters are… MAYBE.

models are models for a reason so the clothes hang on them. I hated seeing bigger models. Im not big Im stick thin and yes I cant gain weight and i do eat but I liked seeing thin models so i can relate to them. I dont have big boobs and im not gonna go buy um! and no amount of FAT is gonna make me get them sooo.. least it feels like NYC again..ahhhh
